Feelter may be based half a world away, but it's tapping into the Boston tech community. The Tel Aviv startup, whose technology gives online consumers insights into retail products via social media, announced Monday it closed a $2 million Series A round led by Will Graylin, global co-general manager of Samsung Pay and co-founder of LoopPay.

And with this announcement, Feelter has also shared it has brought on David Chang, a local angel investor and entrepreneur who previously led PayPal's Boston office, as executive chairman. At Feelter, Chang will focus on forming strategic partnerships and scaling the company.

"At first I was reluctant to get involved with a startup based 5,000+ miles away in Tel Aviv," Chang told us. "But I soon saw their vision, got hooked by the opportunity, and joined as a board member despite the seven-time zone difference... I’m excited about working with them and growing the company. As a next step, we are opening a Boston or New York office to build U.S. market share."

With the Series A funding, Feelter plans to start U.S. operations, grow its team and its client base. This recent investment brings the venture's total funding to $4 million.
