Nightclub booking app Tablelist announced on Monday that it has acquired Miami-based NightPro, a back-end venue management system that compliments the Boston startup's front-end reservations platform for tables at night clubs.
"This is a game changer for Tablelist."
This is the first acquisition for Tablelist, which has raised $5 million from investors like Accomplice and Crashlytics co-founder Wayne Chang. The startup said as part of its announcement that it's currently raising a new $3 million round that it will use to launch in additional markets as well as accelerate product development. The startup previously disclosed via a regulatory filing in April that it was raising a $4 million round, with the first date of sale happening the previous month.
As part of the acquisition, NightPro's five employees will join Tablelist's Boston- and New York-based team of 27, though they will stay local in Miami. The price of the acquisition isn't being disclosed.
"This is a game changer for Tablelist and more importantly - a game changer for the entire nightlife industry," Julian Jung, CEO of Tablelist, said in a statement. The market size for nightclubs and bars for the U.S. alone is pegged at $25 billion, according to market research firm IBISWorld.
NightPro's platform is helping over 100 venues in 22 cities across the world manage more than 4 million guests and over $250 million in reservations. Tablelist currently operates in eight cities including San Francisco and Washington D.C., has brought in over 100,000 app downloads and driven over $10 million in business to their venue partners.
Both startups charge venues through a monthly Software-as-a-Service model while Tablelist also offers a monthly paid service for consumers that gives them exclusive perks.
Tablelist is also planning to expand to the international market, which the startup said is worth $75 billion.
"With NightPro, we are going to be the most effective marketplace for connecting patrons to incredible nightlife experiences all around the world," Jung said.
