Techstars alum Wise Systems is developing enterprise software to help companies optimize delivery routes and it's out raising money. Given the boom of delivery startups — including Martha Stewart's venture — and a general increase in e-commerce activity, it's easy to see why investors might find value in helping delivery companies become more efficient.
On Tuesday, the startup disclosed via a regulatory filing that it has raised a little over $1 million of a $1.5 million equity offering. Chazz Sims, Wise's co-founder and CEO, declined to comment on the funding for now.
Wise, which came out of MIT's Global Founders' Skills Accelerator, was part of the first Techstars Mobility program in Detroit last year, and it was most recently accepted into this year's MassChallenge program in Boston.
The startup lists Verizon Ventures, Fontinalis Partners, Techstars and Techstars Mobility Managing Director Ted Serbinski as investors from previous rounds on its AngelList page.
