Waltham’s CounterTack, which aims to protect individual computing devices across a corporate network, is seeking to accelerate its growth with a new cash infusion that brings the company to more than $50 million in funding raised to date.

The company’s new $15 million Series C round gave CounterTack a higher valuation than its previous round, according to a spokesperson, though the valuation figure wasn’t disclosed.

Founded as NeuralIQ in 2004 in Virginia, the company re-launched as CounterTack in 2011.

CounterTack says its Sentinel product provides large companies with detection of cyber threats against their devices in real time, along with technology to respond to and defend against the attacks.

The company’s approach is able to “cut through the typical security alert ‘static’ to give analysts accurate intelligence about threats across the entire enterprise,” Adrian Sanabria, senior security analyst at 451 Research, said in a news release.

TenEleven Ventures, a new backer, led the Series C round. Oher new investors in the round were EDBI (the corporate investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board) and Mitsui.

Previous investors that took part in the funding were Goldman Sachs, Fairhaven Capital, Siemens Venture Partners, Razor's Edge, OnPoint Technologies (a U.S. Army investment fund) and Alcatel-Lucent.

CounterTack, whose CEO is IT security industry veteran Neal Creighton, employs 70 across offices in Waltham, Washington, D.C., and Santa Monica, Calif.
