Ex-HubSpot executives David Cancel (left) and Elias Torres (right) are the founders of Driftt, which disclosed raising $15 million in initial funding this week.

Funding activity in Boston picked up the pace this week with disclosures of seven notable investment rounds, ranging from a couple of sub-$1 million seed rounds for promising startups to a $28 million late-stage round for "quantum dot" technology firm QD Vision.

The most interesting local deal of the week, from my perspective, was the $15 million round for Driftt, a stealthy Cambridge startup founded by two former key executives from HubSpot. I covered the initial disclosure of the round here and added some more details on it here. CRV and General Catalyst Partners made up the majority of the round, but they were joined by a number of angels including seven top current HubSpot execs, among them founders Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah. Driftt co-founder David Cancel, formerly the chief product officer at HubSpot, told me via email: “We raised $15M vs funding it ourselves or raising a smaller round because we want to create another anchor company in Boston.”

"You can create billion-dollar companies that change people's lives for the better in Boston."

“We lost Facebook and Dropbox to the Bay Area,” Cancel said. “We hope to heal those wounds and help to reverse the curse and prove all the critics wrong—you can create billion-dollar companies that change people's lives for the better in Boston.”

Here are the details on the seven deals from this week (click the dollar amount for links to our coverage).

Driftt $15M Team collaboration software Cambridge
Elsen $400K Faster computer processing at hedge funds Boston
