Cambridge’s Thinking Phone Networks has raised a new funding round of $56.7 million.
Thinking Phone provides unified communications services that are based in the cloud and are used by businesses to fill needs such as mobility (including smartphone and tablet support), voice, text messaging, and video.
The Series D funding round was led by Technology Crossover Ventures and also included returning investor Bessemer Venture Partners..
The company has now raised nearly $89 million in venture capital funding since its launch in 2006, placing it among the top-funded privately held tech firms in the Boston area. Other investors in the company include Advanced Technology Ventures.
Thinking Phone employed about 200 as of August, and expects to more than double its staff by the end of next year.
