Venture capital investment in Massachusetts hit $682 million across 62 deals during the third quarter, according to CB Insights.
The funding amount was above the $609 million raised during the third quarter a year earlier, but well below the $1 billion raised during the second quarter of the year.
CB Insights also noted that Cambridge's Atlas Venture, which now plans to split into separate tech and life sciences investing firms, tied Andreessen Horowitz as the third most active venture firm during the third quarter, with 20 deals. (They were surpassed only by New Enterprise Associates and Kleiner Perkins.)
There were no blockbuster deals in Boston tech during the quarter, though there were number that are worth highlighting again:
