European marketing firm BlueConic announced Thursday it has raised $3 million in a Series A round led by Sigma Prime Ventures. The newfound raise brings the company's total financing to $7 million.

In coordination with the funding announcement, BlueConic has also stated it has moved its corporate headquarters and executive team to Boston, where the firm will rapidly grow out its sales and marketing team. The company will, however, keep offices in the Netherlands.

"BlueConic is answering the question currently keeping CMOs and online marketers at brands of all sizes up at night: How can I better engage anonymous prospects and known customers across an ever-growing number of online channels?” said Sigma Prime Ventures Managing Director John Simon in a statement. “The platform has proven to be extremely scalable and the company has already seen tremendous success, making them a great addition to the Sigma portfolio. We are excited to back them as they move to Boston and take the U.S. market by storm.”

The company's headquarters is located in the Financial District and currently holds four executives. Though the firm has a relatively conservative headcount of 20, BlueConic plans to have 15 stateside employees and 35 total employees by the end of 2014.

BlueConic helps brands optimize cross-channel marketing opportunities by boosting customer engagement. Founded in 2010, the company has over 70 clients, including Volvo, ING and Pitney Bowes, among others. BlueConic's online customer engagement platform leverages big data to profile interactions through store and machine learning in order to help marketers synchronize relevant communications across Web, mobile and social outlets in real-time.
