Because Rhode Island is a veritable hive of cool people doing cool things and hiring personal assistants is expensive, we at Rhode Island Inno have established a curated calendar of state-wide goings-on we think readers will enjoy — alllll in one spot. Week One

Friday, 6/1 DESIGN FORWARD RI WORKSHOP: Marketing Your Design Business: "This workshop provides tools to assess your business’s strengths, identify your strongest audience, and develop clear means of communicating the value you bring." Business leader Colin Murphy will lead the event at The Community Collaborative in Providence. Buy tickets here.

Week Two

Monday, 6/4 Robot Club: Meet at the Ocean State Maker Mill in Pawtucket from 7:00p.m. to 11:00p.m. to discuss “robots and what makes a robot, a robot.” Attendees are encouraged to bring projects they are working on. RSVP here.

Wednesday, 6/6 Open Coffee: Howell Legal will host an informal coffee and breakfast event for those in the Rhode Island entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem at Olga’s Cup & Saucer in Providence, from 8:30a.m to 10:00a.m. Get more information here.

Thursday, 6/7 PVDFest: Day 1: "Party with Providence! The Creative Capital comes alive for a free four-day festival that celebrates artists from around the globe and around the corner." The day's events begin at 8:30a.m. Get more information here

Friday, 6/8 Sustainability, The Ocean & Innovation: Head to the Social Enterprise Greenhouse for a 4:00p.m. discussion focusing on "the opportunities for impact and economic development through BlueTech innovation, including introductions by local entrepreneurs and technologists," hosted by SeaAhead. Saturday, 6/9 The Ultimate Career, Money and Relationship Seminar: "During this four-hour interactive seminar, we’re going to tell you how to understand your career path, branding yourself via LinkedIn and other social media channels, building your confidence and maintaining healthy relationships as you seek more joy and fulfillment in your career, finances and relationships." Shemika L. Moore, Career Coach, Moore Impactful Career Consulting; Omama Marzuq, Advisor, Concord Wealth Management; and Shawndell Burney-Speaks, S.Burney-Speaks Life will present at the Institute of Entrepreneurship & Leadership in Providence, starting at 2:00p.m. RSVP here.

Week Three

Tuesday, 6/12 Code and Coffee: Hosted by Girl Develop It Providence, this informal meeting looks to connect members old and new, allow participants to work on projects, and ask programming questions. Join the group at 6:15p.m., and don’t forget your laptop and charger! RSVP here.

Wednesday, 6/13 Providence Code Night: Join the <Intra City Geeks> for a free night of code instruction in the Providence Public Library’s Rhode Island room, and hear from CareerDev graduates. The 6:30p.m. to 8:00p.m. course will cover HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS and more. Laptop and RSVP are required. More information here.

Saturday, 6/16 Social Engineering RI: "This is a one-day conference ... at Salve Regina University's Pell Center, with talks and activities focused on IT social engineering," its event description states. "Learning about phishing, vishing, pre-texting, physical bypasses and how to defend against these attacks. We will also have a panel with past winners of the Social Engineering CTF from DefCon and DerbyCon, to learn how they did it." The conference begins at 9:00am, with tickets $50 each. Week Four

Thursday, 6/21  Network After Work: "An evening out with other local business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, and career-minded professionals." Head to Hanley's Ale House in Providence at 6:00p.m. Tickets are $15 per person. Get them here.

Friday, 6/22 2018 Economic Outlook Luncheon: Beginning at 11:30a.m., this event will feature Gov. Gina Raimondo and Johnson & Johnson Group Worldwide Chair Sandra E. Peterson for a moderated discussion. Get more information here

Week Five

Wednesday, 6/27 Monthly Meetup: The Providence 2600 Meetup Group will discuss anything from general tech issues to privacy, to online security and gadgets, at its May meeting beginning at 6:30p.m. More information here.
