Lake Oswego fraud detection company Vesta named an ex-Equifax executive as its new chief product officer.

Hrishi Talwar joined the company in the spring and will head up the company’s global product and marketing functions.

Vesta’s platform helps protect against credit card fraud while ensuring that safe transactions aren’t also rejected. The company, founded in 1995, is a local fintech industry pioneer. It built its business on serving telecommunications customers, and has moved further into e-commerce since 2019.

Talwar was most recently vice president of product for identity, compliance and fraud analytics for Equifax. He has more than two decades of product management and tech experiences across financial services, payments and mobility.

“His expertise in identity, fraud and compliance and his deep knowledge of payments is well set for driving our roadmap.” said Ron Hynes, CEO of Vesta, in a written statement. “As online fraud continues to surge, fraudsters become more sophisticated, so we must continue to innovate and adapt our solutions to stay ahead of the curve and ahead of the fraudsters.”

In 2020, Vesta raised $125 million in private equity to pursue the e-commerce growth strategy outlined by Hynes. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and changes in office life, the company now advertises as remote first. It has several open roles listed on its website across engineering, customer success and finance.

Talwar is based in Atlanta.
