Just weeks after announcing a new CEO, Navex has appointed its first C-suite human resources role.

The company elevated longtime leader Cindy Raz to the new role of chief people officer. This is also the third new executive named this year.

Raz has been with the company for 10 years and was most recently senior vice president of human resources and organizational development.

“Cindy has built our HR organization, and by extension our workplace culture, from the ground up. She brings the authenticity needed to make a real impact, creating meaningful change when necessary, and demonstrating how deeply she cares about our people,” said CEO Sean Thompson in a written statement. “We are like-minded in the role a strong corporate culture places in building and maintaining corporate excellence.”

Under Raz’s leadership it has pushed a diversity, equity and inclusion strategy that includes creating several employee groups. The company has an LGBTQ+ Community Group, a DEI Racial Justice Task Team, a Women in Sales Group and a Navex Parents Group.

“For any organization to thrive and grow, it must consistently challenge its people framework,” Raz said in a written statement. “At Navex we embrace this challenge, building more than a place for people to work, consistently evolving our culture so people can thrive in life. I could not be more honored to serve Navex in this new capacity.”

Lake Oswego-based Navex has more than 1,200 global employees. The company makes business software to manage ethics, compliance and risk. Last month, it elevated Thompson to the CEO role. Earlier this year the company also named two other new execs: CFO and chief product officer.
