Welcome to the final round of Wisconsin Inno’s 2020 Tech Madness!
Out of 32 startups from around the state and after nearly 1,000 votes, only two companies are left. Fiveable and Curate Solutions are going up against each other in the final round after Fiveable beat out Fetch Rewards and Curate Solutions edged out GrocerKey in the semi-finals.
Launched in 2018, Fiveable provides live-streamed discussion, on-demand video lectures, study guides and academic support for 15 AP courses. To encourage student accessibility, the company uses a “freemium” monetization model, starting with a $5 per month subscription option. In January, Fiveable raised more than $673,658—entirely from Wisconsin-based investors—including $615,000 in a seed funding round led by Northwestern Mutual’s Cream City Venture Capital.
Madison-based Curate Solutions, founded in 2016, has built a platform for civic organizations to monitor risk and find opportunities in local government discussions. Launched by Dale and Taralinda Willis, the company has raised $2.2 million to date, according to Crunchbase.
Finals voting lasts through March 30, and we’ll announce the winner on Tuesday, March 31. Remember to vote with one question in mind: Who would you invest in?
