And the Winner of Atlanta's Inaugural Tech Madness Bracket Challenge Is…

It was certainly no small feat.

After 5 rounds and nearly 9,000 votes during our competition, there's only one tech startup cutting down the net today and leaving with bragging rights.

Atlanta-based 2ULaundry, a door-to-door laundry and dry cleaning startup that’s raised $2.9 million total, secured a buzzer beater win over OnPay, a software company with a payroll platform for small businesses that’s raised $3.6 million in funding, with just 39 more votes. Talk about clutch, y'all.

I'm rather surprised a B2C won over B2B, given how B2B heavy Atlanta's ecosystem is. Throughout Tech Madness, OnPay won the majority of all votes most of the rounds, barely surpassing 2ULaundry in total votes. Because 2ULaundry has raised less funding than OnPay, this makes them the underdog winner in a Cinderella story.

2ULaundry cinched the win with a few votes, pulling out a W over Culture Greetings with 18 votes, in Round 2, but dominated the floor in Round 3 and Round 4. To make it to the final round, the startup received 67.5 percent votes over PadSplit.

As a reminder, Tech Madness is our reader-driven bracket competition in the spirit of March Bracket Tournament highlighting some of the local startup scene’s biggest, brightest and most exciting technology companies.

Throughout the month, 32 Atlanta-based startups went head-to-head in the bracket, and readers like you voted on the winners.

Thank you, the readers, and all you startups for participating in our first Tech Madness competition. Please join us again next year for another round!
