The winner for Atlanta Inno's 2021 Tech Madness bracket competition (drum roll, please) is Gimme Vending!
The logistics software startup founded by two Georgia Tech graduates beat out its competitor by more than 200 votes in the final round.
No. 10 Gimme Vending and No. 7 RoadSync, a transportation payment startup, made it to the finals, making the competition a battle of underdogs.
Gimme Vending barely made it out of round five, eking out a win over DefenseStorm, an Alpharetta-based cybersecurity startup, by just five votes.
Gimme Vending bested 63 other startups, the most companies in Atlanta Tech Madness history. The startups were seeded by venture funding. The winner has about $2.5 million in investments but continued to overtake startups with more than double or triple that amount.
An underdog win has become a trend in Atlanta’s Tech Madness. ViZZ, a virtual experience software startup, took home first place last year. 2ULaundry, a laundromat and laundry delivery startup, won in 2019.
So, what does Gimme Vending win for the stunning victory? Bragging rights and clout, of course!
