And the Winner of Atlanta’s 2nd Annual Tech Madness Bracket Challenge Is…

After five rounds with 32 startups, thousands of votes and plenty of "Space Jam" GIFs, we've come down to the winner of Atlanta Inno's second annual Tech Madness competition.

Atlanta-based ViZZ, a software company that builds virtual experiences, claimed the winner's cup over BoxLock, an Atlanta-based startup that provides smart padlock devices for home deliveries to thwart porch pirates, by just 279 votes.

It's a true underdog story, with a smaller seed stage company overtaking a B2C company with more than $5 million in total funding. It was a close call, though; both companies consistently received the most total votes during the last few rounds of the competition.

ViZZ was a hot pick for this year's voting, having beat-out the 2019 Tech Madness runner-up OnPay to advance to the Semi Finals. This marks the second underdog to win Tech Madness in Atlanta, following 2ULaundry's win last year.

Not only did we see a surprise victory, we received a record-breaking number of votes for our final round: over 9,000.

As a reminder, Tech Madness is our reader-driven bracket competition in the spirit of March Bracket Tournament highlighting some of the local startup scene’s biggest, brightest and most exciting technology companies.

Throughout the month, 32 Atlanta-based startups went head-to-head in the bracket, and readers like you voted on the winners.

Thanks to our voters, readers and all the startups that participated in this friendly competition. Please join us again next year for another season of Tech Madness!
