DoorDash (NYSE: DASH) has selected 13 Minneapolis and St. Paul-based restaurants for the 2024 cohort of its Accelerator for Local Restaurants Live and Local Series.
DoorDash partnered with Bridge for Billions, Hospitality Minnesota and Pimento Relief Services (an organization launched by Pimento Jamaican Kitchen owner Tomme Beevas) for the accelerator. The five-month program offers selected restaurants one-to-one mentoring, a $5,000 grant, programming on revenue diversification, and networking opportunities.
The selected restaurants include:
- Carbon Kitchen & Market in Minneapolis
- Chowe Empanadas in Stillwater
- The Dripping Root in south Minneapolis
- Erta Ale Ethiopian Restaurant in Lowertown St. Paul
- Game Time Sports Bar and Arcade in the Phillips West neighborhood in Minneapolis
- Gigi’s Cafe in Uptown Minneapolis
- Little Brazil MN near Upper Landing Park in St. Paul
- Nadia’s Jamaican Kitchen and Catering in Brooklyn Park
- Nannys Jamaican Kitchen in the North End neighborhood in St. Paul
- Q’bo Latin Food in Apple Valley
- Sweet Heaven by Nne in Maple Grove
- Vikings and Goddesses Pie Company in the Union Park neighborhood in St. Paul
- West Indies Soul Food in the Thomas-Dale neighborhood in St. Paul
“The [DoorDash Accelerator for Local Restaurants] will go a long way in helping me navigate the challenges I face as a Minneapolis business owner,” said Carlos Acosta, owner of Chowé Empanadas in a press release. “It offers me and my industry peers a sense of community, invaluable mentorship, and empowers us to open exciting new revenue streams to grow our businesses.”
Over the last 10 years, DoorDash has partnered with hundreds of thousands of businesses nationwide, including more than 1,000 entrepreneurs who participated in previous accelerators.
