Casey Shultz announced last week she's stepping down as executive director of Beta.MN.
In a blog post, Shultz said she's leaving the Minneapolis-based startup accelerator to pursue a new opportunity that will be announced later.
Managing Director Kelly Schultze will serve as interim executive director until a successor is named.
"I was blessed to land at Beta when I first moved to Minnesota. The community welcomed me with open arms and I am grateful for the warmth and support each of you have given me," Shultz wrote. "It is time for me to continue my support of the Minnesota entrepreneurial community in the next chapter of my professional life while also more directly pursuing my passion in sustainable community development."
Shultz started at Beta in February 2019 as director of Twin Cities Startup Week, before being named executive director in January 2020.
During her tenure, Beta's Twin Cities Startup Week pivoted to an all-virtual program during the pandemic. The virtual program expanded to a hybrid presentation during last month's iteration of startup week. Beta also acquired startup news website Tech.MN in June.
Founded in 2013, Beta is a support organization for Minnesota entrepreneurs. In addition to running Twin Cities Startup Week, it sponsors a twice-a-year accelerator program for local startup companies.
