Ten startups in the Tampa Bay area will graduate from the second cohort of Amplify Clearwater's business incubator program this week. As part of the celebration, they will pitch their businesses and share details about their program experience and growth.
The judges will be Ben Friedman, Duke Energy Florida economic development specialist; Yolanda Goodloe, government contract consultant with the Small Business Development Center; and Emmanuel Hernandez-Agosto, dean of the college of business at St. Petersburg College.
The companies will compete for $30,000 in cash prizes, according to Amplify Clearwater.
The following companies in the cohort will pitch:
- Baez Family Enterprise LLC: This LLC operates Señor Bubbles which has been providing laundry services to residential and business customers in Clearwater and the surrounding area.
- BayWest Digital: BayWest Digital was formed to provide digital marketing services for modern small businesses.
- ClearWake Water Sports: ClearWake offers water sports and charter boat adventures on Clearwater Beach with customizable packages and a licensed captain.
- I Love Clearwater: This is a central hub of links, photos and videos about the places, businesses and things to do in Clearwater, including an online store.
- Jets Pizza: Jets offers Detroit-style square pizza with a signature crunch. It also offers deep dish, New York-style, and thin-crust pizza.
- Street Level One LLC: Street Level turns storefront glass into a touch screen, interactive marketing. Advertisers get real-time data on their ad reach.
- Style City Music Inc.: Style City specializes in custom audiovisual services for corporate events including LED walls, lighting, cameras, audio and more.
- The Wine Down Blue LLC: This new wine bar will offer wine slushies, live music events and a diverse selection of wines and charcuterie boards.
- Wakesurf Tampa: Wakesurf Tampa is a private water sports boat charter in Tampa Bay and Clearwater Beach that has wakeboarding, wake surfing, foiling, tubing and more.
- Way2Go: This service provides "safe and reliable" transportation. It has grown from two golf carts to a fleet of 10 vehicles.
Amplify Clearwater is a business advocacy organization. The event will be held June 25 at 6 p.m. at the Murray Theatre at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.
