Tampa artificial intelligence and machine learning company Lumina AI has been accepted into Microsoft's Startups Founders Hub.

The program is designed to give high-potential startups the resources and mentorship to scale their companies, a release said.

"Joining the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub is a huge milestone for Lumina AI," said Allan Martin, CEO of Lumina AI, in the release. "This partnership gives us access to Microsoft's vast ecosystem and technological expertise. It will enable us to develop our [Random Contrast Learning] algorithm further, bring innovative AI solutions to a broader market, and continue to push the boundaries of what AI can do."

Lumina AI will also have access to Microsoft's partner network, which will give it opportunities to collaborate with other innovative companies.

The Tampa startup's RCL algorithm uses randomness as a filter to see patterns and outperform competing machine learning technology, according to its website. Morten Middelfart, Sam Martin and Ben Martin invented it in 2022.

"Given Microsoft's best-in-class innovation and startup ecosystem coupled with Lumina's trailblazing energy-efficient and carbon-saving AI algorithm, I'm very bullish on the potential for significant societal impact from this partnership," said Ed Ingle, a member of Lumina AI's board and former Microsoft executive, in the release.
