Sacramento Inno is now accepting nominations for Inno Madness, a bracket competition designed to heighten awareness of Sacramento's startup ecosystem.
Inno Madness is the Sacramento Business Journal's Inno section bracket-style competition to highlight the startup and technology companies that drive our innovation economy.
As for which of those companies we'll highlight, it will be up to you to decide. It's in your hands, dear reader, to nominate the companies that make it into the brackets. And then it will be up to you to vote for the companies you want to see advance in each round of brackets in March.
You can enter your nominations here.
You can nominate your own company, or one that you admire from afar. We’re looking for startups or small businesses that are private, tech-enabled or supporting local innovation in some way.
We’re accepting submissions over the next few weeks until Feb. 24.
The companies must be based in or have significant operations in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado or Yolo counties.
The bracket madness starts in March.
At that point, companies will go head-to-head through subsequent rounds of voting with you, our readers, determining who moves on from every matchup. At the end of all the matchups after the weekly rounds of voting, we'll announce our Inno Madness winner. Along the way, a lot of local startups and tech companies will get a little ink to let the ecosystem know a bit about them.
There is no prize money, and there will be no pitches necessary. It's mostly just for fun and glory. And a little attention for the Sacramento region's startups.
