Senior services startup Naborforce isn’t done expanding.

The Richmond company, led by CEO Paige Wilson, said last week it has moved further into the D.C. and Savannah, Georgia, markets. That follows two pushes into North Carolina earlier in 2024.

Naborforce was already operating across Northern Virginia and in Bethesda, Maryland, as well as in part of Upper Northwest D.C. But now the rest of the District is in the company’s coverage area, Wilson told me.

“We should’ve done it before now,” Wilson said.

The company provides a tech-based platform that links aging adults to a network of "nabors" for social companionship, engagement and on-demand support with errands, transportation, help around the house and other tasks. Clients or families must set up accounts to book help from the company’s nabor network, a process that only takes a few minutes.

Wilson told me the expansion into Savannah echoes similar pushes into North Carolina the company made earlier this year, covering “fill-in” areas within its coverage areas.

“Starting next year, 10,000 Americans will turn 80 every day,” Wilson told me. “That’s who this company is for.”

Naborforce also operates in Richmond, Charlottesville, the Norfolk-Virginia Beach area; Atlanta; Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas; Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point and the greater Wilmington area in North Carolina.

Wilson told us in 2023 her company had grown 300% each of the previous two years, a clip quick enough to necessitate its move to a new office in Scott’s Addition. She told us at the time the company has had strong margins since its launch, but over the next few years it must become a profitable business.

Naborforce has raised $12.3 million in funding since its founding in 2018, according to Crunchbase. That includes a $9 million Series A round in 2022 led by Palo Alto, California’s Translink Capital.
