It wouldn’t be the Semi Finals without some dramatic matchups. And now, with only two startups left in the competition, we head into the Finals with a head-to-head match between two of the area’s promising startups.
Let’s take a look at the two matchups in Round 4.
Last round four Dallas startups squared off. In an upset, management and support startup Gig Wage took the W over car community social network Park Up Front by more than 100 votes.
In the other matchup, two of the youngest startups in the bracket, both with similar amounts of funding faced off. Underdog Kanarys, a diversity and inclusion platform beat out much more established startups, including Common Desk in Round 4, to make it to the Semi Finals. However, in a matchup against women’s sexual health app Rosy, which recently was a winner of the SoGal Global Pitch Competition, Kanarys fell.
Now, the Finals are set: Rosy v. Gig Wage. And there’s only three days to get your votes in, as the winner will be announced on March 31.
In Round 4, more than 3,100 votes were cast, continuing the trend of growing excitement and enthusiasm in the entire North Texas startup community.
Remember, in this friendly competition, winners are determined by the simple question: Which company would you invest in? What that means is up to you. Maybe you think they would bring the most return. Maybe you think they are the safest bet. Or Maybe they just get you excited. Either way, gets your votes in and highlight the innovation being born in the region.
Here’s the upcoming voting schedule:
- Round 5 March 27 – March 30
- Announce winner on March 31
