The Top 10 Cybersecurity Funding Rounds in Massachusetts [Infographic]

Several companies that scored the biggest funding rounds for cybersecurity in Massachusetts are easy to guess.

Take Cybereason, for example. The $100 million Series D round the company raised in June from Softbank is the biggest funding round for a cybersecurity startup in Boston to date, according to Crunchbase Pro. The company is also the only one that appears twice on the list, thanks to its $59 million Series C round (ranked No. 3 to date) from 2015.

The top three includes Digital Guardian with its $66 million in new funding, while the full list goes on with Waltham-based Carbon Black, which filed for IPO last year, and Rapid7, which acquired Komand in July and ranked No. 5 with its $50 million Series C.

It's worth mentioning that the list shows how the cybersecurity sector is rapidly gaining more attention from investors. Out of eleven funding rounds that made the list (including four rounds that ranked in eighth position), seven were secured in the last three years.
