The eighth-annual Startup Boston Week returns Monday, Sept. 9, and will be held at Suffolk University in downtown Boston.

The innovation and entrepreneurship event runs through Friday and has over 100 sessions scheduled with 300 speakers and various opportunities to network with other founders and investors in the Boston startup community.

SBW will feature a fireside chat on Tuesday, Sept. 10, with Massachusetts Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development Yvonne Hao on the state of innovation in Boston and what makes the city unique in the broader world of startups.

“Beyond legislation, Massachusetts has the key ingredients to lead in climate tech and become a global innovation hub," Hao said in a statement. "With proven success in life sciences as a model, we’re capitalizing on our strengths in R&D, top talent, world-class universities, startups with groundbreaking technology, and accelerators & incubators to grow our thriving innovation ecosystem. There’s a ton of momentum — and this is just the beginning."

Before the fireside chat, Hao will be on the podcast stage with Value Creation Labs founder Zach Servideo to discuss her decades of executive business experience, including her time serving as CFO and COO at PillPack, an online pharmacy that was acquired by Amazon in 2018. VCL is a collaborator with BostInno, which publishes the podcast interview series Boston Speaks Up.

SBW panels will cover topics ranging from the ins and outs of a term sheet to bringing your startup out of the idea stage and decoding startup funding.

There will also be various opportunities to connect with other startup founders and investors at networking events throughout the week. Additionally, startup coaches and consultants will provide free guidance.

SBW is free to all interested parties.

Speakers at SBW include Boston Business Journal reporter Lucy Maffei; Evan Pierce, Vice President of People and Culture for the Boston Celtics; Sahid Azim, CEO and General Partner at C10 Labs; Sean Block of MiniLuxe and Michelle De La Isla, CEO of Hack.Diversity.
