Illuminarium Experiences, an Atlanta-based “experimental entertainment company” is moving forward with the development of a $2M virtual reality venue on the BeltLine. The company, which discreetly raised $14.2M of a $25.4M round in November, recently filed a permit application with the City of Atlanta to build a 25K-sq.-ft. immersive entertainment venue at 820 Ralph McGill Blvd. in Poncey-Highland. According to What Now Atlanta, the venue is one of several planned worldwide. In December, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported initial news about the venue, “Illuminarium,” that would use a 360-degree digital projection and sound experience to immerse audiences. The project is planned for the Common Ground development along with Two Urban Licks, New Realm Brewery and Bazati Hall.

Featurespace, an Atlanta and U.K.-based fraud protection and risk management startup, raised a $37.4M round led by Merian Chrysalis Investment Company Limited. According to a news release, the funding will be used to support Featurespace’s growth as it continues to launch in foreign markets, such as the recent release of its anti-fraud and risk management platform into the Singapore market.
