The Top Tech Hires and Departures in Atlanta (July 2019)

Accenture appointed Atlanta local James “Jimmy” Etheredge as group chief executive — North America. Etheredge succeeds Julie Sweet, who will become Accenture’s CEO. Martin (“Marty”) Rodgers will take over Etheredge’s previous position as senior managing director — US Southeast. These three employees will start their new positions on Sept. 1. In his new role, Etheredge will lead the company’s business in North America, its largest geographic market, and will join Accenture’s Global Management Committee. He will remain in Atlanta for his new position.

Streamline Health Solutions Inc., a data analytics company in the health care sector, appointed Wyche T. Green III as its interim president and CEO as the company searches for a permanent replacement. Green is chairman of Streamline Health’s board of directors and will continue in his role. In his new position, Green replaces outgoing CEO David Sides, who is leaving to take a position at another company, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

IDology, an Atlanta-based fintech firm that was acquired earlier this year, named Christina “Chris” Luttrell as its new COO. Luttrell was promoted from her role as senior vice president of operations. John Dancu, president and CEO of IDology, said the new role will focus on product innovation and company growth, as well as operations and customer care.

Patientco, an Atlanta-based fintech company that helps patients pay their bills, named Heather George as the firm’s first CRO. George has 20 years of experience in the healthcare information technology industry. Prior to her career at Patientco, she served as vice president of healthcare industry sales at Kaufman Hall.

Oncology Analytics, an Atlanta-based data-driven utilization management company with a focus on oncology, announced that David Fusari joined the company as its CTO. Fusari brings more than two decades of leadership experience in building market leading, big data analytics solutions for health plans, providers and life science organizations. He most recently served as CTO and co-founder of TriNetX, a global health research network that optimizes clinical research and enables discoveries through the creation of real-world evidence.

NOW Corp, an Atlanta-based a B2B payments company, added financial services veteran executive Marc Adelson as chief operating officer/chief credit officer. Adelson brings more than 30 years of management experience in specialty finance to his new position with NOW Corp, most recently serving in a senior leadership role with CIT Group Inc.’s Trade Finance business. His experience also includes various leadership positions with The CIT Group, Heller Financial, Capital Business Credit and Medallion Financial.

Tech Alpharetta, a nonprofit organization that helps the City of Alpharetta lead in innovation, added three new members of its strategic board of directors. Tech Alpharetta’s Board focuses on ideating and implementing strategies for growing the Alpharetta tech community and consists of 35 people from local c-suite and senior executive positions.

The new members are:

  • Cindy Jordan-Ford, VP & General Manager, USLATAM, Cogeco Peer 1
  • Felipe Smolka, EVP of Transformation, LeasePlan USA
  • James McAnally, VP, Adaptive Management Services, Pointnext, HPE

Purchasing Power, LLC, an Atlanta-based employee purchase program, appointed Bryon Colby as the new chief digital marketing officer. Colby will oversee all digital platforms including mobile applications, website operations and social media, as well as brand and consumer marketing, creative solutions, business-to-business marketing and public relations. Prior to this position, Colby was senior vice president of digital commerce for Cornerstone Brands in Cincinnati.

Spelman College selected John B. Wilson as the new vice president and chief information officer for Spelman Technology Services. Wilson will begin his role on Aug. 12, according to a news release. As CIO, Wilson will be responsible for modernizing and upgrading campus technology infrastructure. He will also work to strengthen the teaching and learning experience by collaborating with faculty and students to develop strategies that will impact educational outcomes through the use of innovative technology.

Georgia Tech has a new economic development leader. The school named Karen Fite to lead the Enterprise Innovation Institute while Tech searches for a permanent replacement for Chris Downing, who retired in June, the ABC reported.

Lazlo 326, an Atlanta software company that turns lottery tickets, movie tickets, concert tickets, gift cards, coupons and other items into claimable videos and images, added former JPMorgan Chase Vice Chairman and Elavon CEO Mike Passilla to its advisory board. Passilla recently retired from JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he served as CEO of Chase merchant services from 2013 to 2016. Prior his position at JPMorgan Chase, he was CEO of Elavon, U.S. Bank’s acquiring division.
