Last night DC Inno had the pleasure of hosting our first Demos at Dusk meetup at General Assembly’s new Flagship DC location. This event brought together some of the city’s coolest techies to show off their wears and allow the audience to interact with their products hands-on. Attendees were able to navigate through the room, testing out products from VR to innovative apps and everything in-between. The demo showcase included Capitol Interactive, MeSpoke, Ordway, Remodelmate, Route, The Sukhi Project and TransitScreen.

Capitol Interactive creates virtual and augmented reality experiences for different events and organization. CEO Joseph Cathey is a big player in the D.C. VR community and has been a catalyst in the boom of its presence in the city. At the event, Capitol interactive was able to present attendees with the experience of the Vietnam War in 1968.

MeSpoke is a digital platform that rides on the idea of social capital and brings the power back to the consumer. Its app allows users to upload photos, as they normally would on platforms such as Instagram, and tag companies and brands they are wearing to receive rewards for acting as a "brand ambassador" of said company. The product eliminates the "middle man" of branding, allowing the everyday consumer to assert and make use of their own social capital.

Ordway provides a platform that is equipped to handle the confusion of scaling and building business by means of automating billing and revenue. Its software acts in the background, calculating and managing trends, pricing and invoicing, giving users more time to focus on other company needs. The smart architecture learns each company's processes, allowing for ease of scaling and growth.

Remodelmate brings the excitement of HGTV renovation shows to your fingertips, without the lengthy deadlines and high pricing. Its app allows users to present and customize home renovation projects and in turn provides a clear estimate of both time and cost. Once confirmed, the app allows users to pay as work is completed – mitigating risks associated with other traditional renovation options.

Route is a platform for high-school athletes looking to continue to college programs. The program uses predictive analytics to give users suggestions on which programs to target, how to build and maintain relationships, and how and where to get their tapes out. Using up-to-date data from programs nationwide, Route gives players personalized options – increasing their chances of being signed. The program currently runs for football, but is looking to expand to other sports in the future.

The Sukhi Project is a wellness platform customized to fit the cultural needs of users, recognizing that no two cultures are alike and as such their wellness needs can vary accordingly. The program is the first of its kind in its designation for communities of color. The Sukhi Project connects users with culturally tailored providers in the realms of therapists, counselors, life coaches and non traditional providers. Currently, the app caters to the Asian and Asian-American community but looks to expand on that.

TransitScreen provides access to real-time info across modes of transportation, so you can compare your commute via bus, train, metro, bike, rideshare or car to ensure you are making the best decision. TransitScreen reduces both the time and stress of commuting by eliminating the "unknown" factor in transit, with screens in offices, apartment buildings and other venues. Recently, the TransitScreen team has initiated a huge global expansion.
