A former Allina Health senior executive will take the helm next week of a St. Paul-based health-tech company that's been valued at over $100 million.

Jonathan Shoemaker, most recently senior vice president of operations and chief integration officer at Minneapolis-based Allina, will become CEO of About Healthcare on Monday, replacing Angie Franks, who's been CEO for six years, the company announced on Wednesday.

Franks will become CEO at Chicago-based health analytics company Kalderos, though she'll continue to support About’s board of directors as senior adviser.

About Healthcare, formerly known as Central Logic until 2021, makes analytics and management software for hospitals and health networks. It was founded in 2005 and was based near Salt Lake City until it moved its headquarters to St. Paul’s Osborn370 tower in 2020.

About is a portfolio company of Boulder, Colorado-based private equity firm Rubicon Technology Partners. Rubicon in 2020 took a majority stake that likely valued the company at over $100 million, according to PE Hub. During Franks' tenure, About went through two strategic acquisitions, a majority equity investment and numerous expansions and improvements to its services, the news release said.

Shoemaker brings 25 years of health care operations experience to About, including 18 years with Allina.

"As a health system veteran, Jonathan fully grasps the challenges that our customers and the entire industry face," said Dr. Darin Vercillo, co-founder and chief medical officer of About, in a statement. "More importantly, he comprehends firsthand how they can overcome these obstacles, unify their systems, improve network integrity, and orchestrate an optimal patient journey."

At Allina, Shoemaker was responsible for leading the implementation and integration of technology system across its system, which includes 12 hospitals, more than 28,500 employees and 8,300 providers in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. He also was a member of the senior executive team leading Allina Health's Performance Transformation Office.

"Joining About represented an opportunity to improve many elements of healthcare delivery I am most passionate about," said Shoemaker in the news release. "The opportunity to leverage my skills and experience to drive organizational growth and using technology to transform operations at not just one health system but many healthcare institutions around the country is what truly excites me about this leadership role."
