Beta.MN announces its spring 2021 cohort of 14 companies

Beta.MN has announced the cohort for its spring 2021 accelerator program.

The program will run for five months from March to August and will host 14 companies. The group includes companies tackling financial tech, virtual reality and Covid-19 vaccine delivery.

One-hundred and sixty-two companies have passed through the accelerator program. Those alumni have raised $358 million and employ over 1,200 people.

The members of the cohort are:

  • Cedar, a fin-tech company developing a credit card to help users improve their credit scores. Cedar was founded by Adam Finke and George Ulmer.
  • Useabot, a site selling robots and robot software to businesses and consumers. Useabot was founded by Aaron Oesterreich and Katie Youtsos.
  • Black Tech Talent, a Minneapolis-based organization that creates community and finds job opportunities for Black technology workers. Black Tech Talent was founded by Michael Jackson.
  • Quill & Cue, a Minneapolis-based subscription service that helps users send a handwritten card each month. Quill & Cue was founded by Alyssa Toft.
  • Thaddeus Medical Systems Inc., a Rochester-based startup that builds storage and shipping units for the Covid-19 vaccine. Thaddeus was founded by Steve Scully.
  • SoleSafe, a St. Paul-based startup that provides insurance for sneakers and recommendations for the resale market. SoleSafe was founded by Phil Terrill, Archie Clay III, Osei Hill and Brian Saunders.
  • Hoodo, an app that connects job seekers and hiring managers similar to a dating app. Hoodo was founded by Ben Clark and Joe Foley.
  • Teacher Prodigy, a Minneapolis-based startup that makes an insight platform to help teachers grow. Teacher Prodigy was founded by Josh Thelemann.
  • Hello Temp, a startup that runs a platform that connects employers with temporary help without the use of a staffing agency. Hello Temp was founded by Ryan Tlustosch and Jeanette Dressen.
  • LegalQ, a Minneapolis-based startup that builds an app connecting consumers who need legal consultations with attorneys. LegalQ was founded by Tim Schuster, Zeb Anderson and Wagma Gharwal.
  • Kinetic, a Minneapolis-based startup that virtually connects professionals from a variety of industries. Kinetic was founded by Kris Eul and Andrew Verboncouer.
  • MindVue Company, a virtual reality wellness company that creates experiences for people in assisted living communities. MindVue was founded by Noah Barron-Cohen, Chris Allen and Jaime Campbell.
  • Ethos, a fin-tech company that helps financial advisors and asset managers generate leads based on the social issues their clients care about. Ethos was founded by Luke Wilcox.
  • Fairway Play Inc., an Eagan-based startup that creates games that help golf courses generate revenue. Fairway Play was founded by Gary Ziehr, Gerald Rasmussen and Michael Wheelock.
