Minnesota is officially home to 16 Fortune 500 companies, one less than last year.
Here are a few notable companies from this year's list: UnitedHealth Group, Minnesota's largest public company, was bumped from No. 6 to No. 7, with Berkshire Hathaway assuming UnitedHealth's previous spot. Although the company's place on the list dropped, its revenue was up 7% from the year prior.
Target, the state's second-largest company, rose two spots on the list to No. 37. After that is Best Buy, which dropped one spot to No. 75.
Securian Financial Group regained its spot on the Fortune 500 list after dropping off last year. The St. Paul-based company was a new arrival in 2018 but fell from No. 462 to No. 506 in 2019. This year, Securian is back on the list at No. 455.
The number of Fortune 500 companies in Minnesota has remained relatively steady during the last decade, although the number has declined slightly in the last few years. Last year, the state had 17 on the list, down from 19 in 2018.
