Local tech company SportsEngine announced Thursday that it has added four new vice presidents to its leadership team.

Shawn Burk, Valerie Just, Dave Micko and Sarah Barber joined SportsEngine as the company's vice presidents of IT, human resources, engineering, and finance respectively.

Burk, the new IT leader, will be responsible for data and business intelligence for the company. Prior to joining SportsEngine, he held multiple regional and global leadership positions at Cargill.

Just joins SportsEngine's HR department after spending more than a decade at Comcast. Micko most recently worked at Bluestem Brands and has also held roles at Fingerhut, Green Tree Financial and Best Buy. SportsEngine's new VP of finance, Sarah Barber, previously held leadership positions with Novus Media and at WorldPay.

Founded in 2004, SportsEngine provides sport relationship-management software that helps sports organizations reduce the time they spend on administrative tasks.

The company was acquired by NBC Sports Group for an undisclosed amount in 2016. Since then, SportsEngine has added more than 200 new employees, more than tripled its customer base and now serves more than 45,000 sports organizations.

All four new leaders will be stationed at SportsEngine's headquarters in Minneapolis.

"I am excited about the addition of these leaders and the breadth and depth of experience they bring to SportsEngine," CEO Brian Bell said in a statement. "Every day I am inspired by the team we have built, the mission we serve and the opportunities ahead of us."

News of SportsEngine's new leadership comes about four months after the company's co-founders stepped down. Former CEO Justin Kaufenberg joined local firm Rally Ventures as a partner in October. Kaufenberg was succeeded by Bell, who joined the company in 2015 as chief revenue officer and was promoted to president in 2018. Prior to joining the company, Bell held several executive positions at other tech companies, including president and COO of Code42.

Replacements have not been announced for SportsEngine's other co-founders, Greg Blasko, CTO, and Carson Kipfer, principal designer.
