Gener8tor's Minnesota Managing Director Eric Martell has resigned from his position to join a new Twin Cities startup called Pear Commerce, he shared in an email to gener8tor mentors and community members Thursday.
Program Director Adam Choe will serve as gener8tor's new Minnesota co-managing director along with Nhi Le, who has been with the gener8tor team for several years running gBETA Madison. She will be relocating in early 2019.
Martell said that he plans to stay involved with gener8tor to assist with the leadership transition. He will also serve as a mentor to future gener8tor cohorts. Martell's new startup Pear Commerce is a retail-tech company that aims to simplify retail marketing by connecting CPG advertisements directly with retailers.
Gener8tor arrived in the Twin Cities in 2016. Martell joined as managing director in early 2017 after Mark McGuire stepped down from the position in order to focus on building his new startup, Gravy. Since Martell joined the accelerator, gener8tor has supported two full cohorts of companies that have since raised more than $5 million in funding. Gener8tor has also supported 19 companies through its gBETA programs.
Prior to joining gener8tor, Martell was the chief information officer and co-founder of EatStreet, a Madison, Wisconsin-based company that offers a mobile food ordering service. The company participated in gener8tor's original Madison accelerator in 2012.
