The Brandery and gener8tor, both nationally-ranked accelerators based in Cincinnati and Madison, Wis. respectively, have announced that they are partnering in an effort to “build on The Brandery’s legacy of successful startup launches in the Greater Cincinnati region,” Cincy Inno has learned.

gener8tor will bring its suite of programming to The Brandery, including its 16-week accelerator and its 7-week pre-accelerator program, gBETA.

“We are thrilled to be joining forces with The Brandery and executing on our vision of being the No. 1 startup ecosystem in the middle of the country,” said gener8tor co-founder, Troy Vosseller, who launched the accelerator in 2012.

“The Brandery and gener8tor have rich histories and a track record of success,” said Joe Kirgues, gener8tor co-founder. “We are excited to bring them together and showcase Cincinnati as a great place to start and grow a company.”

The Brandery will continue to run in its current format. Jeff Beoh, The Brandery program manager in 2017, will run its 2018 iteration. Additionally, the head of day-to-day operations at The Brandery, Tony Alexander, will serve as a program mentor and at the board level moving forward.

Rob McDonald, co-founder of The Brandery, added that the move was a boon for the Cincinnati ecosystem.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the future of The Brandery accelerator program,” he said. “By joining forces with gener8tor and the gener8tor team, The Brandery program has the potential to attract some of the highest quality companies to Cincinnati.”

It also marks a significant change in that ecosystem since Brandery's debut eight years ago.

“When we launched The Brandery in 2010, the accelerator landscape was very different,” he said. “To continue to compete at a world class level, it is necessary to adapt and evolve. We’ve known the gener8tor team and the success they have had for quite some time and have shared similar philosophies on how to best assist startups. As a joint effort, we believe we have the opportunity to compete with the best-of-the-best accelerators.”
