WEEK 1: August 1-4  Tuesday, August 1 Event: Girl Develop it Toast and Tech Session 

"Join the nerdettes of GDi at Canteen 3255 in Minneapolis on Tuesday night for their weekly study group. Toast and tech is a “heads-down” coding session for women learning to code and looking to connect with other women in the Twin Cities tech community."

And just for fun... Event: Sidewalk Dog Yappy Hour

"Bring your leashed pup to this (hopefully) sunny patio party benefitting no-kill/rehabilitation kitty and doggy center Animal Ark. Humans will enjoy food and drink specials, and there will be freebies from Bad Tags and Raw Bistro Pet Fare and other treats for your fur baby. Wednesday, August 2 Event: TC Hack Night 

"Hosted the first Wednesday of every month, TC Hack night offers attendees pizza, craft beer and, of course, an opportunity to do some hacking. No speakers, no agenda. Just some quality coding time. The event is open to all skill levels."

Thursday, August 3 Event: Silicon North Stars Demo Day

"Come join us for the first-ever Silicon North Stars Minnesota Demo Day! You'll get to hear 16 extraordinary ninth-graders pitch their startup ideas on how to solve a pressing social problem affecting their lives. This event will come just after the students have returned from an immersive week-long summer technology camp in Silicon Valley, where the students visit top tech companies and startups, learning about the Valley and future careers in the innovation economy."

Event: Hackers & Founders Minneapolis

"Hackers meet hackers, hackers meet founders, founders meet co-founders. Talk startups and tech, help each other out. Hackers and Founders is part of a global network of casual meetups focused around bringing together like minded people working on cool things."

Friday, August 4 Event: MentorMate's Summer Social

"Cool off and power up before braving the Uptown Art Fair with local beer offerings from some of Minnesota’s finest local breweries. Meet and mix with clients, partners and friends to toast summer and raise a glass during the much beloved 'patio season.'"

WEEK 2: August 7-11 Monday, August 7 Event: The Startup of You (Presented by Healcare.mn and Graveti)

"Join us to discuss how founders, entrepreneurs and professionals can maintain their health and thrive physically, mentally and emotionally. Discussion will include structuring the proper balance in your life, loneliness and building successful boundaries."

Tuesday, August 8 Event: Social Media 2.0: Take Your Brand to the Next Level

"In this interactive workshop, we put two Minnesota Cup companies in the hot seat, The Twisted Shrub, and Mississippi Mushrooms, as real life examples - using their current social media channels as our case studies. Shruti Acharya, digital Communications Manager and Jen Smith Social Content Designer from General Mills will be our guides as they ask questions, provide feedback and share best practices."

Wednesday, August 9 Event: WE* Talks: Janet Johnson by Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship

"Join us for WE* Talks, a new series that highlights successful women entrepreneurs from Minnesota by providing a platform to share their entrepreneurial journey. Our first WE* Talks event will feature Janet Johanson of BevSource, an integrated provider of beverage development, production, sourcing, and logistics solutions to new and established beverage companies. Janet will share lessons learned and insights over a 15 year career of building her own company in an industry where women are the exception not the rule."

WEEK 3: August 14-18 Monday, August 14 Event: Free Coworking at Impact Hub

"We open our space to non-members to enjoy a day of free coworking outside of their typical coffee shop or other office space. This is a great opportunity to get work done in a collaborative space, connect with people who have various expertise, and learn more about Impact Hub MSP!"

Wednesday, August 16 Event: TC Maker Weekly Gathering

"Meet at the Hack Factory in Minneapolis to network with fellow makers and hackers. TC Makers build projects using various media and materials, from wood and metal to electronics and fabrics."

Saturday, August 19 Event: Hack the Heat

"From August 19th to 20th 2017, noon to noon, beginner and advanced participants alike will arrive and stay for 24 hours, working away to create something remarkable. Whether you've never written a line of code or you're a published app developer, Hack the Heat has something to offer for everybody."

WEEK 4: August 21-25 Tuesday, August 22 Event: From Beach to Buzzfeed

At Studio Cowork's first event, the General Manager of Buzzfeed's Minneapolis team, Phil Wilson, will discuss how he got where he is today.

Thursday, August 24 Event: MN Cup Food/Ag/Bev Division Pitch Slam 

"The Pitch Slam will include sampling from several MN entrepreneurs and presentations from this year's food/ag/beverage Division semifinalists. The event provides each semifinalist with an opportunity to share 1) the inspiration for their idea, 2) where they are today and 3) plans for the future. After all 10 presentations, the audience will vote for their favorite and they will receive $500!"
