Startups to watch in 2023: Unbox the Dress, Fluree, Optera, Little Light Series and Storage Scholars

A year ago, Triad Business Journal introduced the “Startups to Watch” program as part of our new Triad Inno platform covering entrepreneurship as an economic dynamo.

Startups to Watch focuses specifically on early stage companies facing potential developments in the year ahead that could dramatically impact their trajectory.

This year, we examine a startup launched by college students that has attracted billionaire investor Mark Cuban, as well as the buzz around a company spun off from bee research at UNC-Greensboro.

Also featured is a blockchain tech company that has been among this region’s most successful in landing venture capital, and another growing rapidly with novel approaches to repurposing wedding dresses.

Our fifth teaches children life lessons through art.

Click on the links below to to learn what the coming year could mean for each, and for their respective communities in the Triad.
