Inno Fire: Five sizzling startups that are igniting the Triad

For almost a year, our Triad Inno platform has focused daily on identifying promising startups, tracking fundraising and raising awareness of the ecosystem that unites innovators across the region.

Along the way, we’ve rolled out several features, from our Inno Under 25 to our Inno to Watch to our Inno Madness bracket challenge.

Today, we reveal our Inno Fire selections, five companies that stand out based on their success in raising money, achieving key milestones and growing their operations and workforces.

Encouraging for the Triad is that these companies represent a diversity of industries and sectors. While three are connected to health care, they represent different segments — clinical research, manufacturing and the delivery of care.

Another honoree is leveraging the high promise of lithium research and its applicability to manufacturing, with plans for a $200 million joint venture. And our fifth company serves the retail and food industry, delivering healthier smoothies through a better blender.

Innovation is happening across the region, and it’s encouraging to see collaboration across county and municipal boundaries. As we highlight this inaugural group, we can’t wait to see what startups emerge to add fuel to the fire igniting the Triad’s inno economy of the future.
