A tech company that has caught the attention of Arnie Bellini, Jeff Vinik and more now has a new leader.

Omnivore, a Clearwater-based restaurant technology company, has appointed Dan Singer its new CEO. Singer formerly served as the COO, coming to the company after working as the vice president of finance for Tampa-based tech company FairWarning.

Singer will replace Mike Wior in the new position. Wior, a co-founder, left the company in August, with Singer stepping into the interim CEO position. Chris Sullivan, a co-founder of Omnivore, remains at the company as the chair of Omnivore’s board of directors. Before Omnivore, Sullivan co-founded Outback Steakhouse.

The company also hired Shane Whitlatch as its chief revenue officer. He hails from FairWarning as well, most recently working as the general manager of its health care business. After leaving FairWarning, he served as the senior vice president of sales at California-based CynergisTek, a cybersecurity firm focused on the health care industry. As Omnivore's new CRO, he will focus on the company's business development and sales strategy.

"We’re pleased to appoint two proven leaders to guide Omnivore through a period of high growth,” Sullivan said in a statement. “Promoting Dan and adding Shane will accelerate the growth of our new [software] system and ... focus the development of new technology over the coming years.”

The company offers a platform for restaurateurs, who can sign up to have their point of sale data transferred to the cloud. There is a catalog of engagement they can choose from to see how they stack up against others. It also allows them to compile reservations and take-out requests on one platform.

During Covid-19, the company's system allowed restaurants to adapt to the increased need for carryout and delivery, while also helping launch virtual kitchens.

"From voice ordering to augmented reality to Snapchat QR codes to Instagram reservations, you're coming across hundreds of channels to engage with, and right now the ability to integrate the channels is going to be very difficult," Wior said in a previous interview with the Tampa Bay Business Journal. "That's where we look to solve the problem."

The newest changes are the cherry on top of a whirlwind two years for the company. Omnivore was originally located in Silicon Valley and relocated to Tampa Bay in 2019. It has gotten investments from Tampa Bay Lightning owner Vinik, and The Coca-Cola Co. and Performance Food Group, both of which participated in a $10 million Series A funding round for the company in 2018. Tech titan and ConnectWise co-founder Arnie Bellini also invested in a $3 million funding round in 2020.
