Kirkland-based business software company Acumatica has named John Case, a former corporate vice president at Microsoft Corp., as the company's new CEO.

Case, who begins his new role March 1, is replacing Jon Roskill, who will become an adviser with the private equity firm EQT Partners. The firm acquired Acumatica in 2019.

"I've been honored to lead this amazing company and our passionate team that continually demonstrates our mission and values and pushes the envelope of what's possible," Roskill said in a news release. "It's been a pleasure spearheading Acumatica's growth into the market leader it is today, and I look forward to supporting its future growth."

Roskill in January told the Business Journal Acumatica had about 500 employees globally and added more than 200 last year. He said the company plans to add at least that many again in 2022. About 50 to 60 of Acumatica's employees are based in the Puget Sound region.

Last summer, Acumatica moved to a new 8,000-square-foot headquarters in Kirkland at the Yarrow Bay Plaza office campus to accommodate its growing staff. The company had previously been in a 5,000-square-foot headquarters in Bellevue.

Case was previously president and CEO of Unify Square, a collaboration software company where he spent about five years, during which it was acquired in 2021 by Unisys. He also spent about 16 years at Microsoft, where his most recent role was corporate vice president of Office and Office 365, according to his LinkedIn page.

Roskill has led Acumatica since 2014. A company spokesperson said he "is ready to take on new challenges as an adviser to EQT Partners and make room for a new CEO to take Acumatica to the next level."

Acumatica, founded in 2008, offers what it calls "enterprise resource planning" (ERP) technology. The company offers products in inventory management, payroll, project accounting and customer relationship management.

"I am thrilled to join Acumatica; it's an innovative company and recognized industry leader," Case said in a news release. "I look forward to continuing our growth worldwide while bolstering our commitment to delivering market-leading cloud ERP solutions."
