Kirkland-based business software company Acumatica aims to continue its rapid growth into the new year.

The company, which has about 500 employees globally and roughly 50 to 60 in the Puget Sound region, added more than 200 employees in 2021 and plans to add at least that many again in 2022, said CEO Jon Roskill.

"We read all this stuff about the Great Resignation, I think if anything we've been actually a beneficiary of that. We've hired a lot of people and our attrition is very low," Roskill said. "It's a mix of people coming from some of the bigger companies. We've got ex-Microsoft people. We've got some ex-Amazon people, but also people coming from industry."

Roskill added that, as the company grows, it plans to keep the same general ratio of people in the Puget Sound region, although it could become a little higher. The company has about 130 employees in the U.S., Roskill said.

Last year, Acumatica moved into an 8,000-square-foot headquarters at Yarrow Bay Plaza office campus in Kirkland, a larger space than its previous Bellevue headquarters. The Kirkland space can hold up to roughly 80 employees. Roskill said the Kirkland office will get the company through at least another year of growth, and Acumatica will make further decisions after that.

Acumatica, founded in 2007, offers tools to help with accounting, inventory management and reporting. The company also has offices in London, Bangkok and Sri Lanka.

On Monday, Acumatica announced it had acquired the property management system IBS Imperium, which offers financial management and reporting. Despite the news, Roskill said Acumatica is not a very acquisitive company.

"There certainly could be more acquisitions on the horizon, but I wouldn't say that's the focus of what we're doing," Roskill said. "We really like this ecosystem approach of getting a lot of people building on our platform."
