A space startup, a company that runs a kind of virtual focus group service and a developer of a financial planning app that helps younger workers save more and pay less in taxes were among the Bay Area businesses raising seed funding recently.

Here's more on those and other such deals from this past week:

Muon Space Inc., Mountain View, $10 million: Costanoa Ventures led the seed round for this developer of a space-based climate analysis service. Space Capital, Congruent VC, Ubiquity Ventures, South Park Commons and Climactic VC also participated.

Alembic Technologies Inc., San Francisco, $9.5 million: KB Partners and OCA Ventures led the seed funding of this provider of a marketing analysis service.

Playbook, San Francisco, $6 million: Atomico led the seed round for this developer of a financial planning app targeted at higher-earning millennials.

Phonic Inc. (dba Phonic.ai), Foster City, $2.2 million: Y Combinator, Tola, Supernode and Remus all invested in the seed round for this provider of a video-based consumer research service.

MEandMine Inc., Los Gatos, $2.1 million: Wistron led the seed funding for this educational game company.
