Manhattan Beach-based electric car company Fisker Inc. has added a Sacramento sales location as the struggling company seeks to get more cars into the market.

In addition to a new location on Florin Road, Fisker said Thursday that it's opened locations with dealer partners in Los Angeles and West Covina in Southern California, as well as locations in Missouri, Pennsylvania and Guam.

“We are excited to welcome our new dealer partners to the Fisker family and look forward to them opening for business. California is an exceptionally important market for us, and our team has been working hard to sign dealer partners in the state,” said Fisker, in a news release.

Fisker previously employed a model where customers ordered the sports and luxury vehicles online, but the company in January said it would launch a dealership partnership model in an effort to boost sales.

Fisker is now up to 12 dealer partner locations and distributorships, it said. The company didn’t return emails for details about the Sacramento location, which is housed in the used car dealership of the Lumin Auto Group at 3655 Florin Road. Lumin specializes in sports cars, collector cars and supercars.

Lumin has more than 100 Fiskers on its lot, and it will start selling them in about two weeks, said Marisol Sandoval, a sales associate with the dealership. It has the trim models Ocean, Ocean Extreme and Ocean Ultra. Lumin will also do Fisker maintenance and warranty work, she said.

One of Fisker’s missions is to make the world’s most sustainable electric vehicles, which are built using recycled materials and polymers at a carbon-neutral plant in Austria.

Fisker, a 2016 startup, is led by CEO Henrik Fisker, a Danish automotive designer. The company reported a loss of $940 million in 2023 on revenue of $272.9 million.

In order to start moving inventory, Fisker this year cut the prices of its new cars and SUVs by $10,000, $20,000 and $30,000, depending on the model.

Fisker shares were delisted from the New York Stock Exchange in April. They now trade over the counter and closed at 5.2 cents on Friday. A year ago, Fisker shares were trading around $5 on the NYSE.

Fisker has said it's considering strategic alternatives, including merging with another company.
