The second round of Inno Madness saw HuLoop Automation expand its margins in the Sacramento startup community’s bracket-style competition.
Eight local startup companies went head-to-head, and the winners in three of the categories trounced their rivals.
The one close match saw Sacramento-based Rhombus, the maker of AI-enabled security and monitoring systems, eek past Pair Anything Inc., the Davis-based company that uses AI to pair wine with food.
The other survivors were OnSight Technology, the maker of AI-enabled robots for solar farms, and EV Life, the Folsom-based platform for consumers to research electric vehicles and find subsidies and financing.
Auburn-based HuLoop, which sells AI-powered workflow automation software, won the first round with the highest margin at 73%. HuLoop went even higher in the second round with 82%.
It should be noted that HuLoop and OnSight are the among the local crop of startups that have raised venture capital from local investors.
These four companies will now go head-to-head in the next round with our readers determining who moves on to the finals. Along the way, local startups and tech companies will get a little ink to let the ecosystem know a bit about them. There is no prize money. There are no pitches.
The bracket madness is just for fun and glory. And a little attention for the Sacramento region's startups. Here are the official rules.
Voting for the third round is open now and runs through 5 p.m. April 1.
