Ashland’s Dominion Energy Innovation Center is offering five scholarships to a hydrogen safety training workshop in D.C. presented by Omitz.
The DEIC says the scholarships are open to all Virginia-based entrepreneurs and innovators working on hydrogen-related startups or those who are interested in entering the industry. It is ideally suited for energy entrepreneurs, project developers, engineers, technicians, project managers working with hydrogen technologies, according to organizers.
Attendees of the June 10 session will receive info on safety requirements necessary for hydrogen production, storage, transfer and usage. Phil Clark, a veteran of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, will lead the eight-hour session. Participants will receive a certificate of completion that is eligible for continuing education credits.
The scholarships are part of the DEIC’s Greentech Navigator program, which is focused on supporting climate-tech startups in Virginia by linking them with subject-matter experts.
To apply, candidates should contact DEIC Program Director Braden Croy at braden@dominnovation.com.
The Dominion Energy Innovation Center was founded in 2009 as a public-private partnership between Activation Capital, Dominion Energy, the town of Ashland and Hanover County. The organization has a coworking space and at that time worked with companies in a variety of sectors. In 2020, the DEIC decided to focus on energy sector startups and created an accelerator program for more established startups in that field.
