Before returning for their senior year at Brown University, both Intus Care COO Evan Jackson and CEO Robbie Felton spent time seeing how their business might help clients by putting in long work weeks at a geriatric care facility in Michigan in 2018. There, they got to know everyone from patients to providers.

Today, after a big round of fundraising and a major expansion to the West Coast through the Medicaid Programs for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), Intus Care has closed its Series A fundraising round of $14.1 million.

This week, Jackson said the fundraising round, led by Deerfield Management out of New York, would help Intus expand their service throughout the country, while helping to grow and scale their current business. Intus Care currently works with more than two dozen PACE Programs in 13 states.

"We want to build out our team," he said. "There are some fundamental pieces that need to grow including sales and marketing. We're trying to stay true to our brand and invest in our infrastructure and keep the employees we already have."

Built with the goal of mitigating preventable health emergencies and track care, Intus Care's platform combines electronic health records, claims, and accounting software to "highlight clinical risks in patients and display organizational data." Felton said Series A funds would also be used for a "major scale-up" of their current service offerings.

“We are very appreciative to have earned the support of Deerfield Management and our other investors, and are excited by the possibilities of that investment,” he said.
