Finalists have been named for the 2024 Oregon Tech Awards, a program from the Technology Association of Oregon that celebrates the industry in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
The winners will be announced at an event May 6 at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Tickets are on sale now.
Each year, TAO honors eight companies across a range of categories, along with three teachers and one student of the year.
Here’s the finalists in each of the company categories:
Pre-revenue:
- Ability, the Eugene-based company makes tools for developers to ensure websites are accessible to people with disabilities.
- Finnegan the Dragon, the Hillsboro-based company created a preschool learning and mobile game that targets language development.
- SPWES, Sustainable Power and Water Engineering Solution, is a Vancouver-based company that develops systems for solar generators, energy storage, solar pumping and electric vehicle charging.
Emerging (under $2.9 million revenue):
- Edge Networks, the Vancouver company offers managed cybersecurity services to businesses.
- Troy Technology, the Portland company developed an AI tool that uses semantic search to automate legal research and documentation.
- Paxton AI, the Portland company developed an AI assistant for lawyers to help review contracts, documents and other legal research.
Rising Star ($3 million to $9.9 million revenue):
- Eclypsium, the Portland cybersecurity company specializes in securing the firmware layer of devices.
- Cloud Campaign, the Portland and Boulder based company makes social media management software for marketing agencies.
- CIES, the Bend company designs and makes electronic sensors and probes for the aviation industry.
Accelerate ($10 million to $19.9 million revenue):
- Leanpath, the Beaverton company developed an automated food waste tracking system used in the foodservice to reduce waste.
- AskNicely, the Portland company makes customer experience software used by frontline workers to help improve customer service.
Growth ($20 million to $49.9 million revenue):
- Valaurum, the Portland company has proprietary technology to print with gold and create printed gold bills.
Momentum ($50 million to $99.9 million revenue):
- LegitScript, the Portland company uses artificial intelligence plus experienced staff to monitor and certify online entities for customers like search engines, payments companies and e-commerce platforms.
- Logical Position, the Lake Oswego company offers internet and email marketing to customers in industries like automotive, health care and retail.
- SheerID, the Portland company makes software used by brands to verify identities and offer discounts to certain populations.
Enterprise ($100 million-plus revenue):
- Intel, the computer chipmaker is based in California but its largest outpost of employees is in Washington County where its R&D is based.
- Portland General Electric, the Portland company is the largest electric utility in Oregon, with a seven-county service area around Portland that contains nearly half the state's population.
- A-Dec, the Newberg company makes dental chairs and other dental equipment.
Most Distruptive:
- Paxton AI
- Lazarus 3D, the Philomath-based company uses 3D printing to create personalized, realistic-looking organs to allow surgeons to practice surgery.
- Agility Robotics, the Corvallis company makes humanoid robots and is commercializing in the warehouse and logistics market.
