Energy storage, privacy software and a long-time audio-video hardware maker were the among the winners of this year’s Oregon Technology Awards.
The program, hosted by the Technology Association of Oregon, honors tech companies and leaders from Oregon and Southwest Washington. This year's event was emceed by Jarvis Sam, founder and CEO of The Rainbow Disruption.
Twenty-two companies across eight different award categories were up for honors. Here’s who won:
- Skip Technology, is developing a novel battery for large scale electrical storage, took the Pre-Revenue Award.
- Emano Metrics, created an app to help monitor urinary tract health for patients and doctors. It took the Emerging Company Award.
- Studson, created a new kind of safety helmet for the construction industry. It won the Rising Star Award.
- RadarFirst's software manages data breach incident response and ensures compliance with data regulations in different jurisdictions. It won the Accelerate Award.
- LegitScript, created software to help customers like search engines and e-commerce platforms ensure merchants and products are legitimate businesses and following regulations. It took home the Growth Award.
- PWCC Marketplace, is a trading card and collectibles marketplace. It won the Momentum Award.
- Biamp, makes audio-visual conferencing technology, public address systems, communications software for everything from conference rooms to football stadiums. It took home the Enterprise Award.
- Lazarus 3D, makes personalized, realistic-looking organs to allow surgeons to practice surgery. It was named Most Disruptive.
“We’re proud and honored to celebrate the companies whose breakthrough ideas, technologies and business models have made our region a global hub for innovation,” said TAO President and CEO Skip Newberry in a written statement. “Gathering in person after a few years of tumult was an especially great way to showcase the Oregon tech community’s accomplishments, our region’s resilience and the personal connections that bring and hold us together.”
This year’s awards were held at the Oregon Convention Center. TAO is a statewide industry organization that advocates on behalf of its more than 500 members.
