The finalists for the 2023 Oregon Tech Awards are out, and 22 companies are in the running across eight different size categories.
The event is organized by the Technology Association of Oregon to celebrate the regional industry and accomplishments of companies. The awards will be presented May 16 at the Oregon Convention Center.
"Each of these finalists have significantly contributed to our thriving technology community," said Skip Newberry, president and CEO at TAO in a written statement. "We’re really looking forward to May and the Oregon Technology Awards where we’ll get to celebrate all of these companies and their recent successes."
Here are the finalists in each category.
Pre-Revenue Award:
- Keliomics Inc., is developing a new way to test and identify the best treatment for an individual patient’s cancer tumor.
- Skip Technology, is developing a novel battery for large scale electrical storage.
- Photon Marine, is developing a high-powered electric outboard motor for commercial boats.
Emerging Award:
- Emano Metrics, created an app to help monitor urinary tract health for patients and doctors.
- VitalFlo, created a remote respiratory monitoring system.
- Gamma Diagnostics, is developing diagnostics around a biomarker tied to clotting and inflammation in cardiovascular disease and other conditions.
Rising Star Award:
- CIES Corp., develops electronic sensor systems for fuel systems for original equipment manufacturers and consumers within the aviation industry.
- Verivest, developed software for creating real estate funds and online syndicates.
- Studson, created a new kind of safety helmet for the construction industry.
Accelerate Award:
- Bigleaf Networks, creates software defined networks for clients to help manage connectivity and traffic in cloud infrastructure.
- RadarFirst, created software to manage data breach incident response and ensure compliance with data regulations in different jurisdictions.
Growth Award:
- LegitScript, created software to help customers like search engines and e-commerce platforms ensure merchants and products are legitimate businesses and following regulations.
- RFPIO, created software to manage the RFP process and other business inquiries.
- Avocor, makes smart displays and collaboration software for team work in person or hybrid environments.
Momentum Award:
- Ruby, provides virtual receptionists and online chat services for small businesses.
- PWCC Marketplace, is a trading card and collectibles marketplace.
Enterprise Award:
- Schrödinger, created physics-based software for discovering high-quality, novel molecules for drug development.
- Navex, makes ethics, compliance and risk management software used by large companies.
- Biamp, makes audio-visual conferencing technology, public address systems, communications software for everything from conference rooms to football stadiums.
Most Distruptive Award:
- Birch Biosciences, is developing a new way to recycle plastics using naturally occurring enzymes that will yield better-quality plastic than current recycling methods.
- Lazarus 3D, makes personalized, realistic-looking organs to allow surgeons to practice surgery.
- Hilos, developed a way to make sustainable footwear using 3D printing.
