For entrepreneurs on the north side of the Columbia River, the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce has a new program aimed at supporting new businesses.

It’s called Business POD (Pathways to Opportunity and Development), and it features professional advice and assistance for small business owners in Southwest Washington. The program is sponsored by Vancouver Mall.

“GVC believes in investing in the community. Our main goal is to help the entrepreneurs and small businesses in the region to bring their ideas to life and guide them through the entire business journey,” said Janet Kenefsky, vice president of membership and operations at the chamber, in a written statement.

This includes offering resources to help with loan applications, grants, supply chain planning and market research. The program has twice-monthly, free virtual workshops to help with elements such as business plans, legal requirements, marketing, sales and diversity, equity and inclusion.

There is also a cohort aspect for the program that includes a series of six meetings to connect entrepreneurs with each other and for mentoring sessions.

More information about Business POD is available online.
