Application deadline is Feb. 4. Finalists will be announced Feb. 21. The prize package is $5,000 for first place and $2,500 for second place plus in-kind services for accounting and legal help.

Kubisiak’s role is part of a statewide network of venture catalysts who are funded through grants and operate under different fiscal agents. Kubisiak is working with the TiE Oregon Foundation. Her work is funded in part by Oregon Community Foundation, the cities of Hillsboro and Forest Grove economic development and Washington County.

“I firmly believe that Washington County is one of the best places in Oregon to start and grow a business. We have a talented and growing workforce, high quality of life, and diverse local economy,” said Economic Development Manager for Washington County Matt Craigie in a written statement.

Kubisiak is excited to highlight local businesses who will be providing catering and beverages for the event as well as the opportunity to bring people together to celebrate local entrepreneurship.

This is the latest event focused on startups in Portland’s western suburbs. The city of Beaverton also runs the Westside Startup Challenge with the Oregon Technology Business Center.
