Warrendale-based GrayMatter, one of Pittsburgh's largest cybersecurity firms, announced it entered into a strategic merger with Columbus, Ohio-based Phantom Technical Services Inc., an automation systems developer. It marks the third system integrator to merge with GrayMatter since 2020.
The companies did not disclose any financial terms of the deal.
Total employee count at GrayMatter is expected to reach nearly 200 workers across the U.S., Canada, India and elsewhere as a result of the merger, which is expected to expand Graymatter's "Industrial Intelligence Platform," the company said.
"Expanding GrayMatter’s presence in the industrial automation space is a big priority," GrayMatter CEO and Co-Founder James Gillespie said in a press release. "Phantom’s exceptional reputation gives an unfair advantage to our automation and control solutions that our customers are demanding."
GrayMatter's latest merger with Phantom Technical Services is the cap to several other deals involving industrial technology brands made in recent years. GrayMatter merged with HTSE Inc. from Kalamazoo, Michigan in August 2022 and it merged with E-Merge Systems Inc. from Richmond, Virginia in December 2020.
